Dog owner receives heartfelt note from eBay seller for saving dog from kill shelter

A woman left people feeling rather emotional after she shared the heartwarming note that accompanied her latest eBay purchase, and it went viral on social media

After a year that has largely excelled at being fairly rubbish, one eBay seller has managed to sprinkle a little magic.

The delighted recipient is Amy, a dog lover and avid football shirt collector who recently ordered a shirt from the auction website.

As anyone who has rescued a dog before, it can be tough. The poor pooch has often had a rough start to life and takes a while to settle down.

So Amy was left over the moon at the sweet gift that arrived in her order alongside the shirt from seller Steve – and it quickly went viral online.

She tweeted: “I had a delivery this afternoon from an eBay purchase. I’d exchanged a few messages with the seller and had mentioned to him how I’d recently rescued a dog from a Romanian kill shelter.

“I received this note with my delivery. Faith in humanity restored somewhat today.”

The note said: “Hi Amy, I just wanted to give a little discount/free postage etc. Buy the dogs something nice with it.”

Alongside the Crystal Palace shirt, kindhearted Steve had sent her £20 – a lovely gesture that left people overwhelmed.

One commented: “Lovely shirt and an even better gesture! Also if we get doggy photos that’s always a plus.”

eBay even got involved, as they tweeted Amy: “This story warmed our hearts. There truly are some wonderful people in this world, including yourself!

“Please can you follow us, as we’d love to send you a voucher for you to buy some bits for your lovely dog!”

Another replied: “What a lovely person to do that. Thanks for sharing this, needed something positive tonight.”

“That is first class. Not only the shirt but the person you bought it from being so lovely!” wrote a third.

Another added: “Just bloody marvellous, proper filled me up that, well done all.”
